But now it's a pretty outdated case and I'd like a case that offers USB-C connections at the front. At the time through my own research, the 750D appeared to be reasonably balanced between noise and thermals. The trade-off of course with a quieter case will probably be worse thermals. I would however like a case that's a bit quieter, as with some games the fans do spin up quite a bit and I have to crank up the volume to hear dialogue a bit better (such as in The Witcher 3). I've been pretty happy with the 750D, except for some occassional rattles that disappear when I slap the top of the case. So with this new build, I'm debating also upgrading my case. (I don't do much if any overclocking, I prefer stability over speed). For the GPU I'll either re-use the Kraken X31 (or replace it with a new version since it's 5 years old), or get one of the EVGA Hybrid cards I like the setup with an AIO for GPUs, as that *is* quieter than using the stock fans that come with most GPU cards, and I appear to get similar or better cooling performance as well. I'm planning on re-using the Noctua as I'm very happy with its performance and noise levels and I think watercooling is overrated when looking at performance vs. With that as background, I'm contemplating a new build later this year (6-12 months), with a new high-end CPU and GPU. In terms of airflow in the 750D case, I have the Kraken X31 at the front doubling as an intake fan and blowing cool air over the radiator, an intake fan at the bottom, and two exhaust fans, one at the top and one at upper-back of the case (exhaust for Noctua tower, all blowing towards that exhaust fan). Been going strong for almost 5 years now, so been happy with that setup (though I kinda hate the CAM software, in general don't like using software for regulating fans/pumps). For my GPU (980Ti), I'm using a NZXT Kraken X31 AIO to cool the chip, as that was quieter than using the stock fans that came with the card. Ended up swapping that out for the Noctua NH15 (DH15?), as that was quieter and offered essentially the same cooling performance, and no risk of leaking and that kinda stuff. I also tried some AIO coolers for the CPU (Intel 4790K), I think it was with the Corsair H100 or whatever it was at the time. I did like that, but the thermals weren't that great, so I got a more open design in the Corsair 750D and have been using that ever since. When I did my build about 5 years ago, I initially started with a Fractal Design Define case (don't remember which one exactly) as I thought I'd like the noise insulation.
